  1. Where one might eliminate preconception, simply trust what our souls might manifest, true joy will unfold…so it is with the Raven

  2. One of the superstitions in the small town where I was born and raised is that a black bird or a black cat is associated with bad omen or bad luck. So if you come across any of them, you or any of your loved ones could be in danger or in trouble.

I have believed this for quite sometime so I was kind’a cautious every time I see any black bird or cat. But when I read the story of how a black raven fed the prophet of God (1 Kings 17:1-7), I realized that not anything black brings bad omen.

A black raven is a bringer of light; light from the sun, moon and the stars. Nice poem! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Yes… the black omen, one of the superstitions going around and scaring people without reason. The raven is indeed a divine messenger in many cultures. And as you so keenly pointed out, the raven fed the profet Elijah in the desert… Since I started to feed birds in winter, two beautiful raven joined… they made a nest and are five now. They great us each day and when I am way, they follow and let me know they noticed. Yes definitely bringers of light.
      And friends! Mlaure
