Ushering in spring
last week
trees were encased in ice
and snow dusted the frozen ground
but today
I saw a yellow daffodil
proudly waving in the breeze
the robin
bluebird and meadowlark
joyfully ushering in the spring.
I’d like to be that little bird
and sing my song
for all to hear
until the end of earth
robin
