It is a very important aspect of genealogy, although less known.
The archaeological research into death includes:
mortuary behaviors (inhumation, cremation, flexed and urn burials),
grave goods (artifacts left by the mourners with the dead bodies or remains), cemetery plans (location, placement, origins),
mortality (causes of death), morbidity (diseases suffered by people in the past), diet and health.
